For TEC ART 2026, HIMMELSBACH presents a new edition of his Himmelsbach Idea Catalogue, a self-produced fanzine that brings together speculative proposals, interventions, and satirical reflections on the logic and infrastructure of war. Drawing from his background in the peace movement, the publication gathers conceptual gestures that question how peace is imagined, protected, and instrumentalized. One of these proposals, The Monument for Peace, takes the form of a perfectly maintained lawn that is entirely enclosed by NATO wire, making it impossible to enter, while a drone lawnmower keeps the grass immaculate. The work starts from a simple but uncomfortable idea: conflict may be inherent to human nature. If peace is something we constantly fail to maintain, perhaps the only way to preserve it is to protect it by isolating it, turning peace itself into a guarded territory. Find it at COMPANY STREET
HIMMELSBACH is an artist whose practice blends art, social research, and civic intervention. Through methods that range from community-based collaborations and public artworks to political pranks, workshops, and investigations into alternative ways of living, he creates situations where people can reflect on contested social issues through personal experience. By connecting large political questions to everyday life, his projects invite participants into a poetic, sometimes humorous form of engagement that challenges conventional perspectives and encourages dialogue across social boundaries.
